Our Investigations & Rescue team responded on-scene 7/28/22 to a large hoarding rescue involving 17 cats and kittens needing immediate rescue. Working with local police and animal control, the animals were safely removed from deplorable conditions. The cats are suffering with severe upper respiratory infections from living in extremely unsanitary conditions, unable to access fresh air or litter boxes, and forced to live in their own feces and urine. We are providing immediate medical care and getting everyone comfortable. Over the next few days, we’ll develop ongoing medical plans to make sure each cat recovers and is ready to find a new home.
As we shared recently, we have been at full capacity at the sanctuary. While this rescue has put additional strain on our already full Healing Barn, we knew we had to bring the cats to safety to save their lives.

This is an especially difficult time for our sanctuary and rescue work. We continue to receive reports of hoarding cases across the state. We are working as fast as we can to heal and rehabilitate each individual who comes through our gates, so that we can make room for all those who are still waiting to be rescued.
Our barns and rooms are full, and our dedicated team is working tirelessly to give each animal exceptional care. Any support you can give right now will make a difference.
