Thanks to your support, Pasado’s Safe Haven stepped up in a major rescue last month that saved more than three dozen cats from cruelty. After a search warrant was served by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the cats were found living in terrible conditions on a residential property. But due to budget cuts, there was no funding for Animal Control to complete the rescue – meaning the cats were at risk of being left where they were. With backing from our supporters, Pasado’s pledged to cover all seizure costs to ensure the animals were brought to safety. We couldn’t leave them behind to suffer.
Our Investigations & Rescue team was on scene assisting Center Valley Animal Rescue (CVAR) and the Sheriff’s Office during the seizure. Our medical team also assisted with intake exams and immediate medical care. The most vulnerable kittens needed 24/7 care, including incubators, oxygen therapy and lifesaving blood transfusions at CVAR. Pasado’s ultimately welcomed 35 cats and kittens from this rescue to our sanctuary, where they are healing before finding loving homes.
Your generosity allowed us to step up for these cats and help make this rescue happen. In total, 38 cats now have a second chance thanks to you.
