Join Pasado’s Safe Haven for Compassion Camp!
Our Animal Compassion Camps offer campers a chance to interact with and learn about rescued animals through hands-on projects, art, music and more! This unique experience uses evidenced based Social and Emotional Learning along with valuable Character Education concepts to inspire youth to grow their circle of compassion to include all living beings.
Each day will be spent outside and around animals, so remember to wear boots or good walking shoes and dress for the weather. Campers will be asked to bring their own plant-based sack lunch but will be provided with plant-based snack options each day.
2026 Summer Camp
Camp days are from 9:00am to 4:00pm. If your chosen week of camp is full, please email education@pasadosafehaven.org with your camper’s name(s) and your preferred camp week(s) to be added to the waitlist.
One-Day/Three-Day Camps: Each day will start with a walk around the 85-acre sanctuary, to visit the animals and learn the residents’ stories. All days will have a similar structure, but activities will vary across the three days so that campers may choose to spend one, two, or three days at camp. Campers will be introduced to the work of Pasado’s Safe Haven by learning stories of animal rescue, how animals are cared for at a sanctuary, and what we can do to help animals!
Animal Caregiver Camp: This five-day camp experience puts campers into the shoes of an animal sanctuary caregiver. Campers will learn from sanctuary staff members about the daily tasks involved in humane care of dogs, cats, and farmed animals. This camp is perfect for those campers who like to get their hands a little dirty and dream of one day running their own animal sanctuary!
Changemakers Camp: This five-day camp experience leads campers through creating solutions to problems facing animals and our planet. Campers will learn how animal sanctuaries work to protect animals through rescue, community veterinary care, education, and advocacy. This camp is perfect for campers who dream of changing the world for the better, especially for animals!

One-Day Camps: $40/day
Three-Day Camp Bundle: $100 for 3 days
Five-Day Camp Weeks: $200 for 5 days (includes one day of a vegan lunch)
We are also able to offer up to 50% off of our Compassion Camp costs to families whose household income does not exceed the listed limits. To request a Compassion Camp cost discount, please reach out to education@pasadosafehaven.org.
All camps are fully refundable until May 31st.

Special Projects
Campers will complete a number of animal projects, including making treats and enrichment for the animals, and learning about animal needs and communication.
Creative Learning
Campers will take part in engaging lessons, activities and art projects throughout the day.
My kids didn’t want to leave! They had so much fun spending the day with animals and learning about their stories. They even came home with coloring pages and artwork and lots of ideas for how they can help more animals.
