Just days ago, we rescued 20 cats, including tiny, vulnerable kittens, from a severe hoarding case in Mason County, WA. In all, more than 80 cats were found living in a single house. At one point, many were living behind a closed door in a single room. They endured overcrowding, untreated illness, and chronic neglect.
While the owners ultimately cooperated with local law enforcement and our Investigation & Rescue Team, the case proved to be challenging and heartbreaking. We are relieved these cats are now safe at the sanctuary, and the rest will be cared for by partner rescues. We are thankful for the Humane Society of Mason County, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, and Center Valley Animal Rescue who partnered with us on this case.
Among the new arrivals are weeks-old kittens whose tiny eyes are just beginning to open. The cats are suffering from ear and upper respiratory infections, but they are receiving excellent treatment from our medical team. In addition to ongoing medical care, they are getting nourishing food and gentle socialization to help them heal and get ready for their next chapter. From this point forward, they will only know comfort, love, and compassion.

Your commitment to the animals made this rescue possible. While these beautiful cats are safe at the sanctuary, their road to recovery is just beginning. Please donate today to support their ongoing care, rescues just like this, and all our work to end animal cruelty.
