Last week, we brought in 29 cats who had been abandoned at several different sites in Yakima, many in poor medical condition. The cats were rescued by Kodas Rescue Kittys, and Koda’s partners who had been working for some time to get the cats to safety as they were very scared. At one of the sites, cats were locked their entire lives inside of a home in deplorable condition, covered in feces and trash.

Thankfully, the cats are now safe and receiving medical attention at our sanctuary. We are treating a number of issues such as upper respiratory infections, parasites, and dental disease. Many will need spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines, deworming, microchips, antibiotics, and ongoing medical support as we work to get them ready for adoption.
Despite their past, they are very social and loving! With your support, these cats are getting a second chance and we will work hard to find each one a loving new forever home. This was a team effort made possible by collaboration with several other rescues who took in additional animals: Center Valley Animal Rescue, Onalaska Farm Sanctuary, and Pawsitive Animal Impact Rescue. We are thankful to Kodas Rescue Kittys for her rescue efforts!
Your support allows us to welcome large intakes like this to support partner rescues and shelters that are at capacity in our region. By making room, we are helping ensure as many lives can be saved as possible. Please continue to support this lifesaving work! Your donation today supports these rescued cats and all our work to end animal cruelty.
