This June, we launched the Pasado’s Pen Pals program to connect with kids from afar while our sanctuary is closed to the public. In times like this, we can all benefit from some fun socialization and we want to provide a special way for kids to interact with their animal friends from home. We have been blown away by the responses!

As of July, we have received 552 letters from 28 different states! We have even received letters from Canada, Ireland, England and Singapore. The animals have been busy reading and responding to each one (with a little help from our amazing volunteers!).

You can see more letters and learn about the pen pals here!

Pasado’s Pen Pals is part of our education program, which is designed to actively engage youth with the concepts of compassion and empathy, while practicing critical thinking on real-world issues. Our education programs have gone virtual during this time so we can continue reaching kids in schools and youth groups.
