Adopt Two Rescue Kittens
Avoid Single Kitten Syndrome
Kittens need interaction with other kittens for healthy social development
Do you want to share your home with a kitten? At Pasado’s Safe Haven, we’re going to recommend two!
We appreciate adopters who are willing to adopt seniors, gangly one-year-old “kittens,” shy cats, or rescue cats with medical needs. However, we know that at times in your life you are just ready to adopt a playful kitten!
Maybe you want a kitten to grow up with your human-kittens? We get it. We love the little ones, too! And, we do sometimes have kittens from rescue situations who also need homes. When you adopt a kitten from us, they will go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and with a full vet check. We will let you know if we have noted any medical or behavioral concerns. Our goal is for you to love to rescue!
That said, we are probably going to ask you to adopt not one, but two kittens. If you have another young, playful cat in your home, you can adopt a single rescue kitten. But if you don’t have another kitten at home or your adult cat is older and less likely to keep up with kitten play (this would be most adults!), we’re going to ask you to adopt two rescue kittens.
Two adorable rescue kittens! Yes, you must have two playful cats in your home!
We do this because we want your family to have a great experience with your rescue friend. A single kitten is at risk for behavioral issues including destructiveness, excessive crying/meowing, biting, aggression, and scratching. When you first look at the cute little friend, you may think you can handle a little bit of troublesome behavior, but over time single kitten syndrome is no joke. Two kittens will learn appropriate play from each other and keep each other entertained. So, instead of one kittenzilla, we’d like you to take home two (or more!) well-socialized rescue kittens.
If you are interested in a single cat, please ask us about a cat over six months of age who would do well in, or prefer, a single cat home or a cat who would do well with an older, established cat. We likely have a great fit for you!
Kitten adopters, welcome to our rescue family!
