Our staff are experienced in specialized, high-quality/high-volume spay/neuter surgeries and we are committed to providing compassionate, quality care for each and every client. Pierce & Thurston County Staff
DR. Erin DONOVAN, DVM
Dr. Donovan graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and has spent most of her career as a high-volume surgeon. What began as a temporary solution to a period of burnout quickly became her passion. Through high-volume care, Dr. Donovan is able to make a meaningful impact by helping countless pets live healthier, happier lives.
HEATHER GASCON, LVT
Heather has earned degrees in Veterinary Technology, Biology, and Equine Science, and has been working with animals since childhood. She began her professional career at the SPCA, where her commitment to animal advocacy took root. After college, she worked as a veterinary technician in a small animal, exotic, and wildlife clinic, later earning her wildlife rehabilitation license. Since joining Pasado's in 2013, Heather has been an integral part of our high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter team.
KATHRYN WHITE, VET ASSISTANT
Kathryn has worked in veterinary medicine since 2018, with a background in general practice and emergency medicine, including ICU and ER triage. Outside of the clinic, she has found purpose in fostering bottle-fed kittens and carries a deep love and respect for all animals. She is passionate about high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter work because she believes it is truly lifesaving care.
MELLISA SMITH, VET ASSISTANT
Mellisa graduated from Hulett, Wyoming, and went to college to become a veterinary assistant. She has always had a passion for animals and is especially drawn to spay and neuter work because of its greater purpose. She loves helping animals become the healthiest and happiest they can be.
Snohomish County Staff
DR. TARA MULLINS, DVM
Dr. Mullins has worked with animals her whole life and graduated with her DVM from Mississippi State University. After working in private practice, she fell in love with shelter medicine where she can focus solely on the patient. She enjoys providing high-quality high-volume spays/neuters and vaccinations for our community, where they may not have been able to afford it anywhere else. She values our community and is grateful to be able to make a positive impact in the health of our pets.
MELISSA GIVLER, VET ASSISTANT/SCHEDULER
Melissa has been in veterinary medicine for over 20 years and is a certified Veterinary Assistant, graduating from Pima Medical Institute. Working for Pasado's Pet Services has opened her eyes to the need for affordable spay/neuter in our community. She finds it incredibly rewarding to provide high quality care for our clients and their pets.
Nomadic Neuters Staff
DR. JESSICA NELSON, DVM
Dr. Nelson graduated from Oregon State University and has experience working in general practice, low-cost dentistry, animal shelters, and high-quality high-volume spay and neuter clinics. She is passionate about this work because a single procedure can significantly improve an animal's health, happiness, and longevity.
LAUREN RUIZ, LVT
Lauren is a licensed veterinary technician with over 13 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Most of her career has been spent in humane societies and shelters, where she discovered her passion for shelter medicine and for increasing access to care in the community. In addition to Pasado's, Lauren also works in an emergency and critical care hospital, where she provides compassionate care to animals in need.
LEXI JOHNSON, VET ASSISTANT
Lexi has been working with and caring for animals since 2018. She began her career at her local humane society before moving into a veterinary assistant role at a general practice. She now works as an emergency/critical care veterinary assistant. Lexi is drawn to high-volume spay and neuter work because she finds it incredibly rewarding to help people and animals with little resources available to them.
JO ROSE, VET ASSISTANT
Jo has been working in veterinary medicine since 2021. After spending three years in the Pasado’s clinic, they moved to high volume spay and neuter to help address the community’s high need for veterinary services. They currently work at an animal shelter in Woodinville while doing clinics with Nomadic Neuters, and loves connecting with community members and their pets.
Leadership & Support Team
SHAUNESSY JONES, PET SERVICES DIRECTOR
Shaunessy's career has been dedicated to social service and mission-driven work where she puts compassion into action. As a lifetime animal lover and advocate, it’s a dream for her to work for Pasado’s and with our incredible Pet Services team providing mobile & MASH low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine clinics in eight counties. She is proud that we assist thousands of marginalized families in caring for their beloved pets, a growing list of rescues who place animals into loving homes with our help, and the free vet care we provide for countless feral cats.
JAYME WOODMAN, REGIONAL S/N CLINIC MANAGER, HQHVSN LVT
Jayme earned her veterinary nursing degree from Pierce College and has been licensed since 1994, with experience spanning specialty medicine, general practice, emergency care, and more than a decade in high-volume spay and neuter. As the first LVT at Coalition Humane (now Northwest Spay Neuter Center), she assisted in over 60,000 surgeries and later founded and led a 501(c)(3) rescue focused on sick and injured animals.
Carolyn Stovall, Clinic Manager
Carolyn is a Licensed Veterinary Technician with over 21 years of experience in veterinary medicine. She began her career in support roles while earning her degree from Pierce College, and went on to work in general practice before finding her passion in animal welfare. Since 2016, Carolyn has focused on high-quality, high-volume spay and neuter work, driven by her experience with the barriers many families face in accessing affordable care. Her work with rescues, humane societies, and clinic leadership ultimately led her to Pasado’s, where she now serves as Regional Manager for the organization’s spay and neuter clinics.
DEBORAH TILLMAN, PET SERVICES ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR/NOMADIC NEUTERS SCHEDULER
Deborah keeps the wheels turning behind the scenes so our pet services team can shine. Whether it’s organizing schedules or solving surprises, she is all about making things run smoothly.
JANIS PLUMERI, PIERCE COUNTY SCHEDULER
Janis started with Pasado’s as a volunteer, helping with the Pierce County Pet Food Bank for three years. In 2019, she joined the Pet Services team as the scheduler for the Pierce County Spay Station. She believes every animal deserves a chance to be healthy and safe. Being able to support the people who make that happen is something she is grateful for every day.
