Cooking Class: American Regional

Join us at the sanctuary for a fun, interactive vegan cooking class with Chef Amy Webster! You’ll enjoy an engaging learning atmosphere that serves up fresh recipes and techniques for all cooking levels. Whether you’re new to vegan cooking, a seasoned chef or just looking for a fun way to spend your Saturday – our classes have something for everyone!

This class includes a 45-minute tour of the sanctuary, so you’ll get to spend some time with the animals!

What to expect:

  • Menu: Floribbean cuisine (“swamp cabbage” {hearts of palm salad} & key lime pie) & Midwestern dishes (Michigan vegan chicken casserole, Kansas City-style vegan ribs, & Ohio Buckeyes)
  • Showcasing: veganizing traditional menus with prepared proteins and accidentally vegan products/ingredients
  • Demonstrations:
    • swamp cabbage (hearts of palm salad)
    • key lime pie
    • Kansas City-style vegan ribs
  • Tastings: swamp cabbage (hearts of palm salad), key lime pie, Michigan vegan chicken casserole, Kansas City-style vegan ribs, and Ohio buckeyes
