“Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy.  You vote in elections once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.” – Marjorie Moore

At Pasado’s Safe Haven our volunteers are helping us create a better world for animals.  This support takes a variety of forms, but at its core, it’s all about spreading the love!

If you live near our sanctuary you may want to volunteer time out with animals or working in the People Barn. We need help with everything from office work, mucking stalls, walking dogs, snuggling with cats, helping with laundry, prepping enrichment toys, socializing animals and more!

There are also a number of other ways to get involved with our organization outside of our sanctuary gates.  You might help with an adoption event, support a pet food drive, or table at a community event.  Depending on where your interests and time availability are, we will find a way for you to support the work we do on behalf of animals.

Learn more about volunteering your time.

We offer a unique team-building volunteer experience called “Compassion Days” for groups of ten or more. These fun days allow you to bond with co-workers, friends, and other animal lovers while supporting Pasado’s Safe Haven’s mission.  Your team will tackle projects such as painting, building, weeding, cleaning, and other tasks to improve the sanctuary and the animal’s homes.  Each team gets a private tour of the sanctuary and an opportunity to visit with many of our animals.

If your company or group would consider generously donating its time and service at our sanctuary, please complete this short questionnaire and we will be in touch with you soon.

We offer a variety of internships related to our work as an animal non-profit.  This is a great way to get more intensive, focused experience in a specific area of interest.  From Animal Care to Communications, Program Management and Investigations, you can find an opportunity to give you valuable skills and real-world understanding.  Learn more.
