On Thursday, August 14th, Pasado’s Safe Haven took part in a large scale hoarding case out of Ritzville, WA where 48 cats and kittens were removed from a private residence. Pasado’s, along with the Humane Society of the United States, King County Animal Services, Everett Animal Shelter, Purrfect Pals, Homeward Pet, Blue Mountain Humane, PAWS, Skagit Valley Humane and SpokAnimal worked as a team to bring all 48 cats to safety.

Kim Koon, Pasado’s Safe Haven’s Director of Rescue and Investigations said of the joint rescue “It was a pleasure to work with HSUS on this rescue and to see the power of partnership result in a successful outcome for all of these sweet cats. Together, we can truly make the greatest impact for all of the animals who desperately need us. ”

A few of the cats appear to be pregnant while others are suffering from minor health related issues, however many appear to be in good health.

Of the 48 recovered from the scene Pasado’s Safe Haven brought six back to our sanctuary. All will be seen by our veterinary staff immediately and rehomed as soon as possible.
