The New Year is a time for resolutions, reawakening, and renewal. Here at Pasado’s Safe Haven, we can’t think of a better way to start off the New Year than resolving to make a difference. For 2010, we are renewing our commitment to making a difference for all companion animals. We will continue to be at the forefront of rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming efforts, facilitating aggressive spay/neuter programs, coordinating events for the animals, and working to ensure that animal abuse and neglect do not go unpunished.
This year, make some New Year’s resolutions that
will make a difference for you and for the
animals. Start your 2010 off on the right foot
by lending your time, your heart, and your soles
to the animals! At the sanctuary, there are
numerous ways that you can accomplish your New
Year’s resolutions – and get the decade off to a
fresh, fulfilling, and fun start.
Every year, millions of Americans resolve to
become healthier and more active, but many
people note that it’s hard to stay motivated to
work out without a partner. Here at Pasado’s Dog
Towne, our canine residents are more than happy
to assist with this healthy resolution: they
can’t wait to take you on a tour of our
beautiful grounds. Walking a dog is healthy for
the heart and for the mind.
At Pasado’s, we know that working out doesn’t
have to be a solitary task, either. Bring a
friend with you to enjoy the gratitude of our
deserving dogs, whose happiness, you will find,
is contagious. Walking through the foothills of
the Cascade Mountains with grateful dogs is a
wonderful stress reliever, and the variable
terrain makes for a great workout.
Are you looking to start the New Year off with variety and joy? Consider volunteering at Misty’s Kitty City, on the farm, or at Dog Towne. Volunteering can take you across the sanctuary grounds, but more importantly, it can bring an animal close to your heart.

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to become more organized, Pasado’s warehouse could really use your help! If you have a company with a knack for organization, this work party might be perfect for you. After our holiday events, our warehouse needs to be reorganized and refreshed for the coming year. If you think that your company would like to participate in this work party, please
email our Volunteer Director to find out how.
If your resolutions keep you closer to home, consider
fostering or adopting one of our deserving dogs. Valjean, a loyal German Sheppard mix
(image above left), is hoping to find a low-key home where he can be an “only dog,” although he would be fine with feline siblings. His ideal person would be retired or would work from home, and as an older guy, Valjean doesn’t need a lot of exercise.
If you’re interested in fostering or adopting one of our Kitty City residents, many of our classy cats are ready to find their forever homes. Minnie is sweet and sassy and is bound to keep you on your toes, and mighty little Maya
(image above right) would love nothing more than her own special someone.

However you resolve to start off 2010, may it be a wonderful one for the animals. Together, we can continue to make a difference for all companion animals.
From all of the
animals here at Pasado’s Safe Haven, Happy
New Year!
