“All I want for Christmas is to warm my feet!”
Carols have called December the “most wonderful time of the year,” but the sweetest song of all for Valjean would be “I’ll be home for Christmas.”
This boy is a snuggly 7-year-old Sheppard mix who thinks that he’s a lapdog. Weighing in at 100 pounds, that’s a lot of love – but that’s exactly what Valjean has to give to his forever family.
Valjean spent two months lingering at an area shelter, fearing that each day might be his last. Pasado’s received a call asking if we could rescue this sweet senior, and we were happy to provide
him with a second chance at life and love.
When Valjean first arrived, he had sensitive paws and no hair on his back-end due to allergies. But with some loving care, his hair grew back quickly. Valjean has come so far, but he still has sensitive paws. The wet earth causes them to become irritated and inflamed, so this 100-pound lapdog would love nothing more than his own warm home to dry his paws, play, and share his heart.
Valjean is content with short walks and the cold winter weather has been
especially hard on this sweet senior.
Valjean has been making the most of his second chance. His heart of gold is evident during every interaction with people. True to his breed, he anticipates your every want or need.
He adores human attention, and would prefer a home without other dogs. This big, fluffy boy is more of a “people person” than a dog person. He loves nothing more than spending warm, quiet evenings with his favorite Pasado’s people, play-wrestling, petting, or just snuggling at someone’s feet. Valjean dreams of when he will be sharing his days with his own special someone.
