We recently welcomed four new goats: Billy the Kid, Scarlett, Hara, and Belle.
Pasado’s new quartet of goats brings constant laughs here on the farm. Billy the Kid is our resident “outlaw,” and he does his best to live up to his name. This goofy goat loves trying to escape his enclosure to visit with our sanctuary’s ducks and geese, and he’s a big fan of our blackberry bushes, too! We’ve caught him more than once up to his muzzle in blackberries or fraternizing with the fowl.
Scarlett, Hara, and Belle came to Pasado’s from a shelter. They are an inseparable trio and wherever one of them goes, the other two follow. When all of our new goats met the sanctuary’s longtime goat residents, it was a heartwarming experience. We allow our new residents to meet each other through a fence to ensure that everyone feels comfortable. Each of our goats went nose-to-nose with our longtime residents as though they were introducing themselves. In no time at all, our goats were all kidding around with each other.

While Billy is a real “pistol,” Scarlett, Hara, and Belle are mellow and quietly inquisitive. Belle is a white beauty with caramel coloring on her face, while Hara is white and cream colored. Scarlett has a heart shape on her forehead and is the shyest of the three girls, but she is learning what it means to love and trust. It has been amazing to watch our new goats stretch their legs, find new friendships, and learn about the joys of sanctuary life.

Having a true sanctuary means providing homes for companion animals who would have otherwise fallen through the cracks. While many of our rescues eventually find forever homes beyond our gates, we often have rescues who remain lifelong residents.
