Gallant Griffin reminds us of life’s magic, and just how enchanting sweet seniors can be. He came to Pasado’s Safe Haven this spring, and his condition began deteriorating in May. Griffin had diarrhea and lost interest in his food. He soon became lethargic and began losing weight, and he was diagnosed with lymphoma in mid-June.
We’re happy to report that Griffin started a
25-week chemotherapy program and his cancer is
in remission. His appetite has increased, he
gained ten pounds since beginning treatment, and
he’s up to a healthy weight.
Before chemotherapy, Griffin was disinterested in toys or playing. Now, this happy hound
carries a stuffed animal in his mouth and
will even play a game of tug-of-war! He
loves water and he enjoys “biting” water
from the faucet (image below left).
Griffin is bright and active with shining,
smiling eyes. He’s used to the home life and
has impeccable manners. He’s potty-trained,
sits, walks on a leash, and comes to his
name. And he won’t take food off your plate
– even if it’s right in front of him!
Griffin is happy-go-lucky and gets along
well with other dogs. He’s currently
residing with an onsite caretaker and he
can’t wait to show his special someone what
a good, loving boy he is.
A dedicated Pasado's Volunteer took Griffin to
his first Chemo Therapy appointment (image below

Dewey always looks like he’s listening
because he has one ear flopped over. He’s very
mellow and spends his evenings napping on his
bed. During the day, he likes to sit in his
favorite chair (image below left), he loves to patrol the
yard, “play wrestle,” and sing along to the
radio – or even the harmonica!
Dewey is active and loves taking long walks
(image below right). He
is very well-trained and loves to please. He
lies on his bed when asked, takes treats nicely,
sits, comes to his name, and is potty-trained.
This boy is a sucker for a chest scratch and he hopes to spend some quality time with his special someone. Dewey gets along well with other dogs and like his friend, Griffin, he hopes to find his forever home before winter sets in.
These two brave boys have waited for their
special someone for a long time. Does your home
and heart have room to foster both of these
devoted dogs for the winter? If so,
