Dirty Harriette

Do you feel lucky? We sure do, to have met this sweet 12-year-old pup!

Happy little Harriette is a Jack Russell Terrier mix with a beautiful white and cream coat. The problem is, Harriette loves to play in the dirt, and her coat is usually the color of the ground she plays on! With her dirty coat, she has earned the nickname of “Dirty Harriette,” and her sparkling eyes clearly say: “Go ahead, make my day. Come and play!”

Despite her love of getting down and dirty, we can tell that Harriette will soon make a great friend for some special someone. Harriette is a Jack Russell terrier, and she’s an excellent example of her breed. Jack Russells like her are extremely intelligent and are truly “big dogs in little packages.”

Lovely little Harriette shows more spunk than many dogs half her age, and it’s hard enough to keep up with her, much less keep her clean! But Harriette doesn’t seem to mind being dirty – nor does she seem to mind showing us her softer side.

Harriette had been overlooked at the shelter because of eye infections, bad allergies and a skin condition that resulted in hair loss on most of her body. We think that she might like rolling in the dirt so much because it feels good on her skin. In a shelter atmosphere, Harriette had little remedy for these problems, but some TLC, a special diet, medicated baths every week and good, clean air here at the sanctuary have done her a world of good!

Harriette’s sweet, impish attitude shows us that she has so much to offer, and her silly antics always bring a smile to our faces.

Can you make Harriette’s day?

Harriette would truly feel lucky in a home of her own. If you think Harriette would be a good fit for your family, please click here to find out how to start the adoption process.
