Microsoft Excels!
The tragedy of September 11th had a worldwide impact and it is a day that still holds much sadness. But in the aftermath of this devastation, the best was brought out in people: in America, in neighbors, and in those who wanted to be the face of caring. This year, in honor of September 11th, Microsoft celebrated a “Day of Caring” here at the sanctuary.
We are so grateful that Microsoft chose to celebrate their “Day of Caring” here at the farm. What better way to spend this day than in the company of like-minded individuals and amazing animals?
The Microsoft group rolled up their sleeves and exchanged keyboards and “mice” for work boots, shovels, and wheelbarrows. This winning team excelled at all that they did. They provided assistance with vital tasks like spreading manure
(image below left) and cleaning out our barns. “Routine” maintenance and work like this has to be done on a daily basis, but any work performed with love is never routine.

The work – and the caring – didn’t stop
there, though. They helped dig out an area for
our new duck pond, helping to create a lifelong
habitat for our feathered friends (image above
right). They also walked several of our happy
hounds and someone even walked our new goat,
Dolly (image below right)!
After the work was completed for the day, the group took the time to visit with our animals. Everyone
seemed to enjoy the experience and all agreed
that it was a nice break from the "typical day
at the office." Not only did our Microsoft
friends get to spend time at Dog Towne and Kitty
City - but they got the special privilege of
meeting our farm animals that, as a
city-slicker, you definitely don't see every
day.
Would your company like to participate in a volunteer day? It’s an unforgettable experience filled with smiles, laughs, and a whinny or bark here and there. If your company would like to experience a Pasado’s Volunteer Day, please
email our
Volunteer Director or visit our
volunteer page to find out more.
Thank you to the Microsoft Group for participating in this Day of Caring. Your work was much-appreciated, and the spirit of the celebration resonated with humans and animals alike!

(don't forget
to ask your employer to match your donation)
