You’ve heard of the
Untouchables –
now meet the “Unadoptables.”
Meet Harriette, Bob, Jean ValJean, and Jack!
 |
 |
Lovely Harriette (image above left), a 12-year-old Jack Russell, can’t wait to see what will happen next. She needed to have an eye infection treated. She was a good patient – and we can tell that she’ll soon make a great friend! She shows more spunk than many dogs half her age. She was overlooked because of bad allergies and a skin condition that resulted in hair loss on most of her body. But her sweet, impish attitude already shows us that she still has so much to offer.
Beautiful Bob (image above right), a hound/lab mix, is a big “goofball.” At 7 years of age, he’s still very playful. His
orange eyes spark with joy and he loves to chew on his toys and go on walks.
Our dog walking volunteers always boast about
his good manners!
Dashing Jean ValJean (image bottom left), a
7-year-old shepherd mix, is a charmer! At the
vet for treatment for skin issues and hair loss,
he stole bread from one of our veterinary technicians and was named
after the character from Les Miserables. Jean was probably accustomed to a “hard knock life,” but those
days are over for this striking shepherd. He is recuperating at Pasado’s Dog Towne and can’t wait to meet everyone.
Jack (image below right), an adorable black-and-white spaniel mix,
was picked up as a stray from an area shelter
and had a badly infected eye removed by our
onsite vet.
Jack is recovering from his eye surgery and has bad skin allergies and ear infections, but he’s receiving
the best care possible here at Pasado’s. Jack is
looking forward to a pain-free future.
After their vet care procedures, the quartet was micro-chipped. Their process will continue with an isolation period
of 10-14 days, ensuring that they have no illnesses that can be spread to our other Dog Towne residents.
Isolation also helps us to observe their behaviors and personalities, obtaining a better idea of where
they should be placed in Dog Towne. Dogs in isolation
get walks and potty breaks every few hours and plenty of attention from
staff and volunteers.

We find them at area shelters, passed by because
they’re grey around the muzzle, injured, or ill.
But we find beauty in their imperfection – and
value in those who are overlooked. We know how
much love, wisdom, and companionship an older
dog can give. Here, the four newcomers are welcomed
to Pasado’s Dog Towne as they experience the
“Pasado’s Process.”
The Pasado’s Process begins with the Dog Towne Animal Caretaker, who heads out to shelters to find those
who are most in need – the “unadoptables” who have medical or other issues. When dogs get adopted out from
Dog Towne, we have more space to help other middle to senior-aged dogs who are non-aggressive.
Once they receive a clean “bill of health” from our onsite vet, it’s on to their
Dog Towne digs! This is where their status
changes from "unadoptable" to "adoptable!"

Pasado's Safe Haven's Dog Towne (images
above). All our A.A.R.F.F (The American Association of Retired Felines and Fidos) dogs have indoor/outdoor access, cabins with radiant heating, windows, classical music, lots of toys
and get plenty of attention from staff and
volunteers.
These sweet seniors aren’t ready for adoption just yet, but stay tuned to see when they’ll be available.
And remember – saving those who are most at risk is only possible with your help. Please make a donation
today to ensure that we can continue this important, life-saving work!

to ask your employer to match your donation)
