Over the past several weeks, our six “Little Miracles” have made great strides in their rehabilitation.
What they still haven’t learned, though, is how to be a dog… or how to be a part of a household.
These six sweethearts were never taught how to do normal “dog things,” like play fetch, socialize, go
through potty training, or answer to their names. Having lived for years in deplorable conditions, they have just recently learned what it means to be groomed and appreciated, but they are still in
desperate need of “Doggie Behavior 101.”
Could you be a mentor for a "Miracle?" - Stay
tuned to see when Teddy, Daisy, Snickers, K.C.
Joey and Mac can begin their tutoring.
Daisy (images above). Getting your first bath and trim can be a frightening experience... but we were there to hold
a paw every step of the way!
Little Teddy
(images above) wasn't so sure about his bath -
he thinks this water stuff might be a bit
over-rated, but just look at what a gentleman he
was during his haircut!
Clipping Snickers (image above left) was a bit
tricky at first. He was too busy jumping up on the groomer,
but once he'd gotten his fill of attention,
progress could finally be made. Bashful Mac
(image above right) seemed to enjoy his
pampering from nose to paws.
Joey (images above) went from scruffy... to one handsome hound! Look at that million-watt smile!
K.C. (images above) soon found that suds, love, and a gentle touch make all the difference in the world.
Look at these handsome hounds! Not only are they groomed and beautiful, but their eyes are glittering and their smiles could light all of Dog Towne. Their happy faces warmed our hearts and left us feeling inspired.
Special Thanks
Joey, Mac, K.C., Daisy, Teddy, and Snickers bark their thanks
to their groomer, Becca G.
Two of our rescued Shih Tzus have made some amazing steps on their healing journey
When we first brought Daisy, Snickers, and Teddy to Pasado's
Safe Haven, they were shy, scared, and
cowered in the corners of our Dog Caretaker's
cabin. After years of neglect from an alleged
hoarder, trauma and neglect had taken their toll on these sensitive sweethearts.
For the first couple of days, they didn't do
much but sleep. But if you go visit them now,
the difference is night and day. They are all
active, happy, and wiggle with glee when anyone
goes to see them. They soak up the sunlight, and
take full advantage of their soft, warm beds.
The These sweet souls have come so far from that
heartbreaking day when they were rescued. Their
progress could
bring anyone to tears.
This is what Pasado's fights for. To be the
voice of animals who have no voice.
Images are worth a thousand words. Just look
at Teddy and Snickers enjoying their first walks
(images below).
While Teddy and Snickers are learning to walk on a leash, Daisy is recuperating from a badly injured foot. We
are anticipating the day that she, too, will soon learn how to walk on a leash. Daisy is scheduled with a specialist to see what can be done to decrease her pain and increase her mobility.
Our six little miracles continue to inspire us. With each new day, they are showing us their resilience, spirit, and desire to be loved, and every step on their path of healing is an important one.
Stay tuned for next
week when all six dogs get their professional
grooming!
