Hello to everyone at Pasado’s Safe Haven – and a special “woof” to my Dog Towne buddies!
I just wanted to write and let you know about my new life. My people understand me pretty well, so they’ve translated for me.
First, let me tell you about my family: It’s
HUGE! It has SEVEN people. I live with Rita and
Harry, who are also called Grandma and Grandpa. Mary and Mike visit all of the time.
They bring their kids, Libby Ally, and there’s
an almost adult (I think she’s called a
teenager), the big sister Abby. They play with me and take us
dogs on woofs, I mean walks.
There are other dogs here and three look like ME! Snook, Alex,
and Annie. They’re so much fun to play with. Remus and Sirius are much bigger than me, I go see them, but I haven’t played with them yet.
When I met Libby, it was love at first
sniff. She came to meet me with Mary, Ally,
Grandpa and Grandma. I hoped that they’d
come see me again, but to my surprise they
not only came back, but came to take me home
and make me a part of their family!
When we got to my new home, Mary and Harry introduced me to the other small dogs one at a time
so I wouldn’t be frightened. The people left me alone and I introduced myself to them when I was ready.
That was good for me.
Then the people lost their minds. They forgot that I was shy! And ya know what? So did I!
They bought me a warm snug bed as my “safe place.” They taught me that when someone says “settle”
I go to my bed, lay down and calm down. It really works.
And guess what? They cook food for the dogs here, so there’s no dog food out of a can!
There’s stuff for us dogs to play with and it takes a lot of time to explore everything.
And I’ve found out that people sofas and beds are really comfortable. I jump up on the sofa and
I climb all over the place and then I sleep on it. At night if I get lonely, I can sleep with Rita,
Harry, and Snook. They keep giving me blankets, but I don’t get it. I may try it when the weather gets colder.
Thank you, everyone at Pasado’s. I have a forever family that loves me just the way I am. They give me enough
space to be myself. We go for several walks a day. I’m the oldest small dog here and I feel like a puppy.
Instead of spinning in circles from stress, now I play chase in the backyard with my new pack. Instead of
hiding in a kennel, I give kisses and sleep on people.
My family loves me so much they even
started a blog about me.
