AARFF: Adoptable Dogs

Pasado's Safe Haven's army of volunteers scours area shelters looking for the gray-muzzled and arthritic, and bring them home to live out their golden years. They spend their days wandering gentle, wooded paths, free of chains and ropes and free to be incontinent (which they often are!) They spend their nights on thick beds in beautiful heated barns. And any medical need they may require, from daily arthritis medication to fluid therapy to assist with kidney disease or diabetes, is guaranteed for life.

Sienna

Foster a Dog Adopt a Dog

Sweet Sienna is a calm, mellow, and quiet Australian Shepherd mix. She came to us as a “stray” from an area shelter, underweight and with severe dental disease. She had to have all but two of her teeth pulled. At fifteen years of age, she’s full of wisdom and patience. Sienna was scared and timid when she first came to Pasado’s, but now she prances on her walks. This second-chance sweetheart would make a great “couch potato” dog for her special someone.

Sosa

Foster a Dog Adopt a Dog

This energetic boy is hoping to hit a grand slam and run for home to his forever family. Sosa is a five-year-old black-and-white spaniel mix who never says “no” to attention. And it’s hard to resist those piercing blue eyes! Sosa came to us infested with fleas and with hair loss due to flea allergies, but he’s back in the rotation now and has a clean bill of health. Sosa is a medium-sized boy with a World Series-sized heart.

Jet

Joyful Jet is an eight-year-old black lab mix who was picked up at an area shelter as a “stray.” But this beautiful boy obviously belonged to someone during his life, because he’s potty trained, sits on command, and loves to please. Jet is black except for a unique brown ring around his tail. He came to us overweight, with no hair on his back-end, and was infested with fleas, but now he’s sleek, streamlined, and ready for his “flight home.”

Shep

Shep is curious about everything! This inquisitive eight-year-old Border Collie mix is blessed with brains and beauty. He’s playful and loves going on long walks. He also looks forward to having a “job” to do – and he hopes to find a position as faithful companion to his forever family. Shep is a loveable boy who’s looking for a home with no cats where he can cuddle and snuggle to his heart’s content. Shep is in good health, and all he needs to feel whole is a home to call his own.

Eloise

Foster a Dog Adopt a Dog

Eloise is a 9-year-old Labrador Retriever mix with an affable smile and a regal grey muzzle. With her sleek black coat and her floppy ears, Eloise is both elegant and amusing. Eloise has all of the traits that you could ask for in a family pet: she’s sweet, friendly, quiet, and calm. She enjoys going for strolls and loves to show off her excellent leash manners. Eloise is a sharp gal who also knows her commands.  Eloise knows the worth of spending quality time with that special someone! Could this be you?

Lilly

Foster a Dog Adopt a Dog

Lilly lost her home – and her family – in the economic downturn. She had lived with her friend, Butch, but both of these sweet pups recently found themselves homeless. Yet Lilly doesn’t let this slow her down. She’s hopeful, rambunctious, and rarin’ to go! This 6-year-old Pointer mix is a very sweet girl who knows how to sit well. She is very energetic and highly motivated by food. Lilly isn’t housebroken yet and still needs some finishing work on her leash manners, but she’s ready to start her lessons.

Butch

Foster a Dog Adopt a Dog

Dashing Butch is a beautiful Belgian Sheppard mix. This 12-year-old black beauty has a long, silky coat. He came to Pasado’s with mats in his hair, but after receiving daily grooming, his coat is on the mend. Butch was a victim of the economic downturn. A foreclosure made him lose his home, but not his hope. He needs someone who would be willing to spend some extra time with him. Butch is a sweetheart who hasn’t learned his manners yet, but he would love to find a compassionate mentor.

Bobby

Foster a Dog Adopt a Dog

Bobby is a 12 year old Labrador retriever mix who was picked up as a stray by a shelter. Bobby is recovering from tail amputation due to a growth that needed removal but has been pulling through just fine. Here at Pasado's Dogtowne he's earned himself the nickname "Bobby Barker" for his silly talkative nature. This loveable boy is a sucker for attention and especially enjoys to get out and go for walks.

Joie

Joie is an 8 year old Sheppard mix. She is a well behaved girl who knows a lot of commands. She gets along well with both children and other dogs. Joie has a medium hair smooth coat, brown eyes, and a long wagging tail. This sweet gal is laid back and extremely gentle. She would love to find a home that can appreciate her impeccable manners and good behavior.

Sabrina

Sabrina came into Pasado’s frightened, shy and completely silent. She was placed in an enclosure with Joie and has been copying her every move. Her personality has really blossomed and there always seems to be a smile on her face. This playful little girl loves getting her belly rubbed and going on walks. Sabrina’s sweet nature and puppy like face has gained her popularity here at Pasado’s. Everyone seems to want a piece of this 9 year old pup!

John

Foster a Dog Adopt a Dog

John came to Pasado’s as a very frightened guy. He’s quickly learned that we are here to help, and every day he trusts us just a little bit more. John's soft brown eyes disguise a past that is no doubt filled with pain, fear and abuse.  But John has nothing to fear from here on out. When we first met John, he was very nervous on the leash, but now he’s happily prancing by our side. A new family and a home of patience and love will be the best remedy for this sweet boy.

Val Jean

Foster a Dog Adopt a Dog

Val Jean is a 7 year old Sheppard mix who spent over two months at a shelter before we got a call asking if we could rescue him. Without any hair on his back end due to allergies, no one was interested in adopting him, even though this big guy has a heart of gold. All he wants is someone to love. Val Jean would do best as an "only dog" in home, but is fine with cats. Val Jean also has some difficulty with stairs.

Maggie

Adopt a Dog

Maggie, true to her Lab breed, is a lovable, active dog, who'd love nothing more than to spend her days swimming and playing ball at the beach. She's going on 9 years old and she has sensitive joints, so she needs to take things at a moderate pace. She's searching for a forever home that can provide nurturing, responsible owners. As they say, what's one person's abandonment is another person's treasure. Sweet Maggie is a true diamond in the rough.

Max

Adopt a Dog

He's a travelin' boy who's been around the world! With one blue eye and one brown eye, Max is one handsome dude! He’s 15 yrs old and weighs 82 lbs. He can hear, see, and is very obedient. Max has advanced arthritis in his back legs and takes metcam daily. He’s fine with stairs, but eventually they’ll be difficult to climb. He adores people, dogs, cats, walks, playing fetch, and car rides. He’d like a home without small children and with a securely fenced yard.

Sam

Adopt a Dog

For a 15-year-old guy who is blind and deaf, Sam the Cocker Spaniel is a real pistol! He loves his naps, but when he's awake, he's all energy and enjoys long walks.  If you didn’t know about his disabilities, you’d never guess – he’s a great navigator. He’ll need an understanding, patient family. He'd love to meet his forever family who will cherish and appreciate him for the rest of his deserving days. If you’re looking for a great little companion, Sam’s your man!
