Hooper (brown) and Sylvester (black) are a young and playful bonded pair. Hooper is normally the instigator - he gets Sylvester all excited and then they chase each other around with their hair up playing who’s the top goat. Hooper's favorite place is high up on the play structure. Sylvester is more people curious, while Hooper is more of a goats' goat - but both are friendly towards people.

The boys have been together since birth. Born male on a dairy farm, they were considered "by-products" and would have been killed just days after birth if Pasado's hadn't stepped in.

If you'd like to provide a space for Hooper and Sylvester to live out their days happy and at peace, contact us today!

Betty White is the most agreeable pig you'll ever meet. She loves to be around people and enjoys the company of other animals. What exactly happened can only be theorized, but at some point in her life she lost her ears, leaving her deaf. She is not affected by this very much in her day to day life, but her interactions with other animals can be affected by her inability to hear. She is otherwise in great health and cannot wait to find a loving home of her own. If you are interested in giving Betty a home, fill out an adoption questionnaire at PasadoSafeHaven.org/Adopt

Sonny Saturday has a sunny disposition and is wonderful with people. He walks very well on a halter and is well-socialized. He is an older llama with a few age-related health issues like arthritis. He will likely get along well with older female llamas or a sweet senior male llama. While he will not make the best herd guardian due to his age, he will likely be fine with smaller farm animals like goats. If Sonny is the llama for you, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Heart is a large, beautiful pig. She loves to be around people and is well-behaved. She may get along with other large, docile pigs, but with a good amount of socialization from her humans caregivers, she may do well as a single pig as well. Pasado's Safe Haven rescued her from neglect - her feet were particularly neglected and required specific care. Today, her feet are healing well and shouldn't cause many more problems for this sweet girl. If Heart is the girl for you, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Bevans, Lodi and Little Frei are three of our "Sounders" goats lovingly named after Seattle Sounders soccer players. Some are Cashmere and some are Cashmere/Nigerian Dwarf crosses and these three girls are some of the most beautiful goats we have ever laid eyes on! The goats were very thin and scared after arriving at our sanctuary in December 2016 but have been loving life ever since. They are very sweet and love people! Lodi is a 4 year old girl and she sticks closer to her mom, Bevans, who is 15 years old. Little Frei is also 15 years old! They are never far apart from each other and love eating together, grazing together and snuggling in the barn.

Bevans had a snapped flexor tendon when she arrived at our sanctuary - a very painful injury that caused her to walk on her pasterns instead of her hooves. She has been fitted for leg braces that make it easier for her to walk and she has been doing great!

The six “Sounders” goats have been a family for many years so although we would love to see them all stick together they would still be totally happy being adopted into two groups! If Bevans, Lodi and Little Frei look like the ones for you fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Arnie and Winnie are a bonded pair, both under 1 year old and will likely both be less than 70 pounds when full grown. Rufus is a potbelly who loves them both very much! The three love to be around each other and will do very well in a home together.

All three are incredibly social, friendly and love people. Arnie especially loves cuddling with people and will jump onto your lap as soon as you sit down. He's content to just sleep in your lap wrapped in a blanket for as long as you'll let him.

They spend most of their time cuddled up right next to each other under blankets but also really enjoy playing games and other enrichment activities.

Oscar is young with goofy energy. He does well with pretty much everyone he meets. Oscar came to us with a tail docked so short it is considered clinically unsafe and illegal. This means that another sheep or ruminant ramming or headbutting (even playfully) his back area can be dangerous to his health. For that reason Oscar would do best with a submissive, calm herd of sheep who match his gentle personality.

He gets along with sheep, goats, and llamas and is generally curious and friendly with all people. Especially if you have crackers! If you would like to consider adopting Oscar, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Joshua is perfect other than one thing; he was born male. He is one of 38 baby goats rescued from the dairy industry because they would have been killed at just days old as a "by-product" of milk production. Now these boys are living happy, healthy lives.

Joshua will do best in a yard with lots of things to jump on, and with another goat to play with. He can always be found romping around the yard with his friends, or right at the fence line waiting for pets as his people approach.

Blue is a gentle giant. He draws people in with his kind eyes and attention-grabbing size. Blue started his life as a veal calf. When male calves are born to the dairy industry, they are considered worthless by-products and are either killed or sold as veal. Blue thankfully escaped this fate and now spends his days enjoying the fresh air and green grass of the sanctuary. Blue will stand patiently in the pasture as his human friends show him affection by rubbing his sides and his neck. Blue’s gentle manners often make him a favorite with visitors and staff alike. Guinea fowl seem to have a personality all their own. They can be quite comical at times and love to watch their own reflection. They have a loud chirping and screeching sound that will “alarm” when anything out of the ordinary comes around. Guinea Fowl are typically social birds and live in small groups.

Patty is a quiet goose with a calm demeanor. She is a beautiful Tufted Toulouse and really stands out from the crowd with her striking brown and white feathers. Patty is a little shy of humans and keeps a reasonable distance away from the caregivers, however Patty does get along wonderfully with the other waterfowl. She has befriended the muscovy hens and spends most of her days with a goose named Clyde.

Clyde is always on patrol of the yard and doesn't like it if the other ducks fight. He will run up to them honking until they stop. He is always first to announce if anyone is coming into the yard by honking loudly.

They have both lived with other geese in the past successfully and have never had a problem living with ducks at the sanctuary. They love spending their time in the pond and laying in the sun.

Cedar, along with 8 other roosters and their hens, came to us through an emergency rescue of over 50 farmed animals from deplorable conditions. They are now enjoying the sun and the chance to dust bathe, and learning how to eat their veggies!

Roosters make wonderful, handsome pets. They are independent, friendly, and easy to take care of. And if their fantastic personalities aren't enough, they are also very easy on the eyes - who doesn't want a beautiful feathered individual strutting proudly across the yard! Roosters get along very well with one another when there are no hens around and they could be adopted in pairs or even groups. They would also make fine single additions to a flock of hens who usually enjoy having a rooster around. If you are looking to adopt a rooster, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Draco and Nemo are two fast friends. They both live in a smaller enclosure on property due to foot issues. Draco broke his toe and now needs to live on softer ground such as fresh earth or shavings. Nemo has a foot deformity (shown in the photo) that makes getting around more difficult. They are both very sweet ducks who get along great with one another. Their favorite activity is to splash in their pond!

                    Bring a rescued hen home!

In August, Pasado's Safe Haven rescued 92 battery cage hens to give them a second chance at life. These intelligent girls were rescued from a conventional egg laying facility that uses confined cages known as "battery cages." Per the standard practices at egg production facilities, these 2 year old hens would have been killed after their egg production declined if they had not been rescued.

As another standard practice of the industry, their beaks have been seared off, to keep hens from pecking each other and to prevent feather pecking triggered by the severe stress of the confinement these girls endured.

Today this gorgeous group of Leghorn hens, affectionately named the Flock of Friends, are living the life they deserve and happily frolicking in the fresh air and sunlight at the sanctuary. They are ready to find a loving home that will consider them part of the family and continue to show them how wonderful life can be. If you would like to adopt some of these special girls, please fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Wally enjoys the company of female muscovies and can get along with other waterfowl such as geese. He is a large male muscovy who is familiar with humans and is happy to hang out with his girls and preen in the sun.

Janet, a muscovy duck, came to us with a family of 3 girls, 2 boys and a mother and father. She was a duckling, but is now a young adult who holds her own in the flock. She can often be found hanging out by the pond, soaking up the sun. She would do well with hens and a drake or with at least one other hen. LaToya is a young muscovy duck. You can find her in the waterfowl yard snuggling and napping with her sisters. Joe and Katherine are a bonded pair of Muscovy ducks. They came in together with 5 ducklings. Joe is a handsome, confident duck who enjoys the company of Katherine and other muscovies. In the waterfowl yard at the sanctuary, he enjoys wading in the pool preening himself and watching over his fellow muscovys. Katherine is a demure muscovy duck who enjoys perusing through the dewey grass, looking for yummy treats! They would make a lovely addition to any flock.

Muscovys hiss instead of quack which makes them perfect pet ducks for families with close neighbors. Joe would be a great addition to any flock as long as he had plenty of female muscovys to protect.

Ashley is one of our wonderful muscovy ducks! Muscovy ducks have great personalities and are brave around humans. Ashley likes to stick around when there is company and be apart of the scene. She also loves to swim in the pond and preen her feathers on the shore. Muscovy ducks are fervent slug-eaters if you have a garden that needs tending and make all-around fantastic pets. They also hiss instead of quack so they can be good for adopters who live next to quiet-loving neighbors. Ashley would love to be in a flock with other muscovy ducks. Bandit and Frauline are quite the couple! Bandit is is a small, bantam rooster. He loves Frauline, our biggest Rhode Island Red. When they first came to the sanctuary, they were finding it difficult to connect with the chickens around them due to their sizes and would often find themselves in tussles. Thankfully, Frauline's more independent personality was perfect for Bandit. Each of them are able to be handled easily by humans. They get along very well and would love to be adopted together to a home where they can continue their odd-couple romance!

Hens and roosters make fantastic pets. People often adopt chickens because they're independent, easy to take care of, and their personalities are just as fun and quirky as any other animal. And if their fantastic personalities aren't enough, they are also very easy on the eyes - who doesn't want a beautiful feathered rooster strutting proudly across the yard! If you'd like a quirky, funny chicken in your yard, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!
