Irma is currently unavailable for visitors as she is resting up in our Healing Barn. Our team is doing everything we can to get her ready for home as soon as possible!

Pasado’s Safe Haven rescued Irma and 4 other dogs from the floodwaters of Hurricane Harvey and brought them to our sanctuary because their families were no longer able to care for them. So far, Irma loves Washington and she is so excited to be adopted by a loving family! Irma is a 1 year old, mixed breed who weighs about 37 pounds. She is a young, sweet and gentle girl. She loves people and is very affectionate and friendly. Irma would love to be adopted into a home with another dog friend to play with, but could do well as the only dog in the home with enough love, playtime and activity.

If Irma looks like your newest family member, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

STATUS UPDATE: A few of the dogs we rescued from Hurricane Harvey have tested positive for a virus that we are actively treating. Fortunately this is something that Washington state vaccinates for, but since it is contagious to other dogs who are not vaccinated, we are being cautious and having them heal at the sanctuary until they are medically cleared to be adopted. Thank you for understanding!

Mouse is the tiniest, cutest dog in all the land! She is a 5 year old Chihuahua who is super sweet, social and loves people. She also has some spunk and some sass! She currently lives with another dog named Mayzie and they get along wonderfully. Mouse loves hanging out with other dogs in the dog park and is super playful and loves to run around. She would love to be adopted into a home with another dog friend for her to play with! Mouse excitedly runs up to you as soon as you walk into the room and is at your feet the entire time because she loves people so much.

Mouse has Addison's disease, a condition in which her adrenal glands are not producing sufficient levels of hormones. This can cause acute potentially severe illness if not monitored and treated as well as chronic gastrointestinal and systemic symptoms of illness. She currently appears well controlled on a medication called Prednisolone, which she will require long term, and other medications may be recommended in the future. She will need veterinary visits and labwork at least every 6 months. If monitored and well controlled she can live a healthy normal lifespan.

If Mouse looks like your newest family member, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Mayzie is a 7 year old Shih Tzu mix, weighs about 18 pounds and is absolutely perfect! Mayzie loves everyone she meets and loves people, kids and other dogs. She has met small dogs, big dogs, high energy dogs, senior dogs, puppies and has gotten along with them all perfectly. She has also been introduced to a cat and did great! Mayzie is very social and her favorite activity is hanging out with people. She's very calm, laid back and totally content just to be with you. She loves going for car rides and loves being out and about people watching and watching the world go by. She also loves going for walks and exploring!

Mayzie has endless love to give and she is so excited to be adopted and in her very own home! She has a benign mass on her paw that will be removed before she is adopted but she's available now for meet and greets and ready to find her family.

May is a sweet girl, but she is very shy around people. She will need a lot of patience and love as she learns to be comfortable around a new person. She's happy to play fetch and romp around with some similar sized male dogs, but is not interested in the company of most female dogs. With any new dog friend, she will need a proper introduction as she is sometimes hit or miss with new dogs. She is a graceful, slender dog who loves to go on walks and loves to explore her environment. She has lived in the caregiver office at our sanctuary before where she calmly and quietly enjoyed watching the staff work.

May's ideal home would be one without children, female dogs or cats so she could have time to settle into a home environment. She gravitates towards women and tends to be more timid around men. She would also do very well with a friendly male dog in the household to help her come out of her shell. A house with a fenced yard is strongly preferred. If this beautiful girl is for you, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!

Tee is one of the good guys. He’s sweet, silly, and snuggly wishing only to please those around him. He is an older guy who would just as soon nap in a warm bed all day as he would go for a walk or play outside with his family. Sometimes his caregivers even have to wake him up for his dinner - Tee has even slept through sanctuary tours!

Tee is blind, but you wouldn’t know it at first. He is adaptable, smart and quickly became well-adjusted to his home at the sanctuary. Being blind can be confusing for him when he meets new people, but once he recognizes you, you are his friend for life. He loves to interact with his people - playfully chasing and being chased and playing hide and seek! Tee is so beloved here that he even has “dinner dates” with one of our staff members where he gets to solve puzzles for dinner by finding food in toys and around his yard. The date always ends with a good snuggle in his cabin where he sometimes falls asleep with his head in her lap. He is a very strong dog and needs a confident handler, but in the end he thinks of himself as more of a lapdog!

Tee wants nothing more than to have a home of his own. He spent most of his life on a chain and he doesn’t need much to be happy. Just a warm place to stay, a good meal, and a consistent, loving owner. An ideal home life would include a fenced backyard so he can play and explore in a familiar environment. Due to his blindness, a home without small dogs, cats, or kids would also be preferred so Tee can feel comfortable in a calm and predictable household. If this handsome dog is pulling on your heartstrings, fill out an adoption questionnaire today! Tee would love to meet you.

Aurora is a one-of-a-kind dog with a beautiful smile. She is athletic, agile and would be happy to play fetch and run in a big backyard. Aurora is 6 years old but still has the get-up-and-go of a 2-year-old.

At Pasado's Safe Haven, Aurora showers her favorite caregivers with kisses, hugs and excited tail wags. She is learning to feel calm and relaxed in her environment and really enjoys having a job. Nose works, agility, tricks and probably algebra are all within her skill set. Aurora enjoys lounging in the sun with caregivers, exploring all the trails around the sanctuary and rolling around in the grass to show you how happy she is.

She makes a huge impact on everyone who meets her - Aurora's vibrant energy is infectious! Just this past year, a person who used to run with Aurora at a previous shelter drove 5 hours to see her again. Aurora knew him in an instant and greeted him with kisses. She stuck by him for the whole visit, happy to see her friend. Aurora can't wait to have that connection once again with her next family.

She will always be a high-spirited, energetic dog who needs a partner who is just as excited for training and activity as she is. Her ideal home would be one without small dogs and cats due to her energy. She has lived with a dog before in August 2013 and with proper training and introduction from an experienced owner this could be a possibility for her in the future. If you would like to be Aurora's new family, fill out an adoption questionnaire today!
