Reviews about
volunteering at Pasado's Safe Haven!
From Chantal, a
Friday evening sanctuary caretaker...
"I hadn't written to you in a while
and I just wanted thank you again for everything that you do, and thank
you for letting me help out and proudly say, "I volunteer at Pasado's
Safe Haven". I know I don't email you guys enough, but I am always
thinking about you guys and very happy when Friday comes! I just thank you
so much for everything. I get so appalled by the world and how much
animals suffer because humans think they are the better species. I heard
this quote and feel the same "Release all the animals and chain up
all the people!" I just don't understand how someone can be so
heartless and hurt animals. They are a much better species in my opinion!!
Thank you, a trillion times thank you!! Chantal"
From Andrea, another
evening caretaker...
"I wanted to let you know how much
I enjoy being a caretaker at Pasado's. It's funny because after a
while, I've probably become just as dependent on the animals as they are
of me! I won't lie, my work days are long, stressful, and
sometimes dreadfully boring. However, every week I get to take the
wonderful adventure through Eastside traffic to a place that I find very
soothing, to a job that I find extremely rewarding.
There's something to be said for a place
like Pasado's. You and the other volunteers have created a
wonderful place for all the animals at the sanctuary making sure that
nobody is left behind.
I take great pride when I tell people that
I volunteer at Pasado's and I don't think that I have ever been so
excited for Friday nights in a LONG time!
Because no matter what horrible
things might be going on in the world, no matter how crappy my day
at work was, or bleak the future might seem... I know that at the end of
a little dirt road in Sultan, I'm going to find hope :o)
Thanks a bunch and take care!
Andrea"
From Rhonda,
someone who came first to a Pasado's work party, and now helps with
rescues, events, and so much more...
"I
recently volunteered for a Saturday work party and I just wanted to say
that I feel so BLESSED to have been able to go and help out. I think
that the sanctuary is such a good thing and on behalf of all the animals
there I want to say thank you! I was so pleased when I saw how
many people showed up to help. The animals were very much at home
and it brought me a wonderful inner peace that I had never felt
before. I truly believe that Pasado's co-founders are angels
sent from God to watch over the animals that need them so badly. To have
such kind hearts of gold, is a blessing.
I am
looking forward to helping out again in any way that I can.
Thank
you again for the most enriching experience that I will never
forget!
God Bless
you all!
Rhonda"
From Lesley, a
corporate exec who doesn't have much time but comes out every other
Saturday to provide free bookkeeping services...
"Dear Mark & Susan,
You always tell me how much you appreciate what I do for you, and I always
feel guilty because I could do more, yet doing the books lets me help
without being right in there with all the awful stuff, being the coward I
am.
So last night I checked the website before dinner, and read about Frances.
I barely made it out of my room, and I'm getting all teary writing this.
That poor, poor dog just broke my heart. The only thing I can think
of is at least she was around people who gave a darn about her during her
last couple of days, but it isn't enough. It isn't. All I can
do is try to think of Matteo (Pasado Note: Matteo and another dog were
neglect case rescues) and how much he upset me when he came in and how
happy he looks now. I wish Frances could have had the same
opportunity.
But then it's things like this that keep the fire in the belly, isn't it.
Plus seeing the happy faces of the Matteo's of the world. I think the
world of the two of you, admire you all tremendously, and am so proud to
be associated with people like you. THANK YOU!!
Love you, Lesley"
