The Spay Station
How It Works

Spay/neuter surgeries are offered free to the pets of low-income individuals, like Emma, right. As a senior citizen, her dog Emily, had to have three litters before she found free spay surgery at The Spay Station. Emma arrives early in the morning to make sure there's a spot for her beloved dog.

6:30AM
Right, dozens of people arrive with their dogs and cats. If people are not on low-income assistance, we offer cat neuters at $25, cat spays at $35, and dog spays at $55 or neuters at $45 - we don't want any excuse for not fixing an animal.

Animals arrive in pillow cases, in cardboard boxes, or with chains wrapped around their necks.

8:15AM

Animals, like Emily, are prepared for surgery. Based on the mix of incoming animals, The Spay Station can spay and neuter up to 28 animals in one day.

8:30AM to 2:00PM
Our veterinarians spend the day providing animals first-rate surgeries with a compassionate touch.

3:00p.m. Emily comes out of anesthesia and waits to go home. All animals are watched over by a highly experienced licensed veterinary technician and vet assistant.

Each day's length is different, depending on the number of animals we are serving that particular day and how far we must travel.

Emma & Emily are re-united.
