Despite a hurricane,
33 dedicated animal sanctuary hopefuls flew in from as far away
as New Mexico, Florida, Colorado, and California and over the years,
Sanctuary 101 has hosted people who have a dream to open a sanctuary
from every U.S. state and multiple countries around the world.
Join them, for an inside look, at what one workshop participant called "the greatest experience of her life". |
|
| 8:00 a.m. Rise & Shine! Each
morning, workshop participants are welcomed by crowing roosters and mooing cows and a hearty
vegan breakfast to get them off to a good start. |

|
|
9:00 a.m. Bringing their coffee, tea,
or juice with them, everyone settles into our rehabilitation barn for a morning orientation. Within
a few hours we tackle how to start a sanctuary, get non-profit tax status,
how to begin funding your dream for the animals and how to help fill the voids - where animals in most communities
fall through the sheltering cracks.

We are so grateful that you
offered this course! It has been so informative and we're sure it will be very useful when we
start our own farm!"

The large animal barn is the first stop for hands-on experience. You will touch and
feel animals you have probably never met before - and you will fall in love! |

|
|
You learn from experts, such as esteemed equine veterinarian Dr. Dana
Bridges right, who teaches
our donkey/horse seminar. Sanctuary 101 is where you learn from the best. |

|
"Thank, thank you, thank! Amazing experience - so much
information!
You dispelled some myths and misperceptions I had...so much work to do and now I feel quipped with
enough confidence to dig in - to begin - and move beyond advocate to activist!"

After a break it's into the barns and diving,
head first, into hands-on work with the animals. Sanctuary 101 is intended to help prepare everyone
for rescuing animals. |

"I don't even know where to
begin! This course has been absolutely fantastic and so incredibly informative. I know
that my life has been changed forever after this weekend and I look forward to
beginning this new chapter in my life!"

At day's end, everyone enjoys a huge bonfire,
wine-tasting and getting to know one another.
They share e-mail addresses and their dreams. Everyone feels they've made friends for life.
