Mike Huckabee	Be Informed: Will Huckabee be hurt by allegations that his son was involved in the hanging of a dog?
When visiting former Arkansas governor and current candidate for President, Mike Huckabee's website it states that he "is out to show people the American dream is still alive." The words Faith, Family and Freedom top the page. What wasn't mentioned there were allegations that his son David was involved in the hanging of a stray dog while he was at a Boy Scout camp.
David Huckabee	Mike Huckabee told NEWSWEEK that his son did not engage in "intentional torture." "There was a dog that apparently had mange and was absolutely, I guess, emaciated." David had allegedly participated in then killing the dog by hanging it from a tree. He later made Eagle Scout. Read more about the story in NEWSWEEK here.
"It comes down to lessons parents are supposed to instill in their children. Kindness to animals seems to me to be one of the most rudimentary lessons of all. And how could a man be a fit presidential candidate to lead a country in the most decent and humane of ways if his actions don't begin at home?" asked Suzy Shuster. This past April, David was arrested at an Arkansas airport after a loaded Glock was found in his carry-on luggage. Mike Huckabee responded with the following: "My wife and I love our son. What he did was irresponsible but not intentional. It's one of those stupid things. He knows better."
