Jenny M and Beauty on
her Birthday! |
Beauty's First Birthday!
We all flew our coops on June 11th to celebrate
Beauty's birthday, in a true Bird-day style! Kim K even made
Beauty a tiny party hat which she wore for about a half second before
she tossed it off and proceed to destroy it!
Everyone gathered
around to watch the birthday girl who was holding her head high and
basking in all of her birthday glory. The thought that was on
everyone's minds was how far she has come. On the day that Beauty
arrived to Pasado's, we weren't sure that she would even make it a
month, let alone a year.

Beauty's Birthday

Her health is truly
something to celebrate- with her vibrantly red comb and her silky
white feathers. And her emotional state is just as fabulous.
She greets everyone with soft coos and curious cackles. She seems
to know that every day is a great adventure! I know that she also
knows that she owes her health and her happiness to her new best friend,
Jenny M who dotes on her round the clock. They are an inseparable
team!
And there was
cake.... Well...for Beauty there was! Jenny M "baked" it for her.
It consisted of all of her favorite things -
brown rice, corn,
peas, spinach pancake, black beans, cantaloupe and sunflower seeds. She
was thrilled! |

Have you ever seen a
chicken peck open a present? Well, Beauty gave it her best shot!
Kim K got her a
a huge box of
oatmeal, wheat spaghetti, sunflower seeds, and a can of corn.
It was truly a special day as we watched one of the animals we rescued
having the time of her life. She would have fallen through the
cracks had we not insisted that she could and would have a healthy,
happy life. You should be proud, too. Because YOU support us
by donating, reading our
stories and telling your friends and family about Pasado's, we are able
to continue to speak up for the animals who have no voice. THANK

Just how long do chickens live?
A
chicken’s natural lifespan is between 10 and 15 years old. The average lifespan
of a factory farmed chicken is about 7 weeks.
