Wendall has made himself at home!

Where are They Now?
An Update on Some Happy Cats!
by Rita L.

So what happens to Pasado's rescued kitties after they leave the sanctuary?  We are proud to share some heartwarming updates with you about a few of our kitties and how much they are loved in their new forever homes!

Abe, TJ and Wendall:

These three kitties came from 2 different hoarding situations, each with unique and difficult needs. Abe and TJ were extremely scared, and skittish, almost reacting as feral cats to efforts to handle and care for them. Wendall had severe health problems requiring a long period of isolation, followed by a serious eye condition due to untreated herpes in his former living situation.

But they certainly had luck on their side, in the form of Kitty City volunteer Kristin and hubby Mike, who first took Abe and TJ home to foster, and later Wendall. "The boys" were all officially adopted and now live with Kristin, Mike, and their three other cats, where they enjoy Kristin's home cooking, an enclosed outdoor kitty playground, and just being mischievous, rambunctious teenagers.

Cinder lost her owner in a house fire is now content in her new home
Cinder

Cinder was a survivor of a house fire last spring. She was EXTREMELY fearful, and
didn't want anything to do with people. We thought she was a feral cat and we placed her into the feral enclosure. After a few days we realized she wasn't feral and brought her into the isolation room, where she stayed with 2 other kitties until last summer when she was adopted by a couple in Cranbrook, BC. Nikki and her husband will do anything to make her happy, including having her favorite healthy food shipped to them from WA!

Proud words from Cinder's new mom:

"Cinder is doing so well. I think I’ve spoiled her a little too much as now she will only let me feed her. We also made a toy for her (tying a mouse onto a shoelace) and she is relentless about wanting to play with it. We keep it in a cupboard when we are not around and every morning she will sit in front of the cupboard and meow for us to open it up and play with her. She is such a funny little girl and we love her to pieces! She talks all the time and has a million different meows."

Angelina, caught in a cat nap
Angelina

Angelina - Came in last spring as an emaciated mama cat with 4 tiny kittens not yet weaned. Rather unpredictable in her behavior with other cats, she lived in Kitty City's intern room until she was adopted just before Thanksgiving. She now lives as an "only child" with Josh and Jessica in Seattle and is a plump, happy, playful girl.

Here's an update Angelina's new pal Jessica:

"Angelina has taken a liking to sleeping on my office chair, so we placed a large beach town on the chair for her to snuggle with. Unfortunately, she's learned that she'll be spoiled here. One of us will brush her once a day, she get fresh filtered water everyday (Josh is a big filtered water fan), she plays with the catnip plant for thirty minutes or so every evening before we put it away, and she gets catnip sprinkled on both her scratch pads every morning. She is at the point with her scratch pads where she just sits and stares at it in the morning until we sprinkle catnip on it. We love her! She's quite entertaining with her toys and when she's brushed. Because we have hardwood floors, she likes to spread out on it and spin herself around.

Awwww... the life!
Tux

Tux had lived in Kitty City for several years and had grown accustomed to it as home, but when a foster home was offered for one of the cats, we jumped at the chance to recommend sweet senior Tux. She was always so quiet and unassuming she was always passed over by visitors. We didn't think she had a very good chance of ever finding a home. But then Tux went into foster care in mid-summer, and officially became a member of her family in December.

She now lives in Tukwila with her new mom Teresa and one senior dog, one young pup, and the newest member of the family, another senior cat named Dani. As we remember her from Kitty City, her favorite thing in the world (besides Teresa) is a plush cushion in a warm spot and a catnip toy. Teresa reports that every night, Tux jumps up onto the bed, waking her and the dogs up, to take her spot on the pillow next to Teresa.
(Teresa said the pillow has taken on Tux's shape and no matter how she tries, she can't get the pillow to fluff out anymore!) Her coat is all soft and shiny now, she has put on weight, and she looks very, very content.

Miracle gets a new fiend for Christmas!
Miracle (now "Edgar")

Miracle came from a hoarding situation and had difficulty adjusting in Kitty City. He was always hiding somewhere in the enclosure outside and did not want anything to do with anybody. We were very concerned for his welfare and were fortunate enough to get him into a foster home (Thanks Peg!). Under the loving care of his foster mom, his true personality as an affectionate, playful, active cat started to emerge.

After 6 months in foster care, he finally found his forever home through an adoption event and went home just after Christmas. He now lives in Seattle with Heather and his canine best bud Lacy.

"They are very fun together, and I must say that Lacy didn't get into so much trouble (nor probably hasn't had so much fun) until Edgar joined us."

Two peas in a pod!
Kammy (now "Kami")

Kammy came from hoarding situation. She was very shy and skittish and did not do well living with all the other cats in Misty's Kitty City. Luckily Kammy Was adopted last summer and lives in Seattle with Christina and Gerry, and her new feline brother Misha. Misha is a slightly larger, more rambunctious version of Kammy. The plan was to bring Kammy home and slowly introduce her to Misha. Misha had other plans and walked right up and introduced himself, they have been inseparable every since.

Christina's update about Kami's new life:

"We have 24/7 entertainment at our house with these two! I am so happy that Kami has come completely out of her shell. She’s super social, absolutely pretty (her winter coat is this silky soft puffy gorgeous dark grey, and it is very very shiny). When I wake up in the morning I take a brief look down the bed, and there’s Misha on the foot end, and Kami smack in the middle between me and Gerry at belly height. So cute!"
