Daisy Mae - What a little kindness
can do
|
“Each
handicap is like a hurdle in a steeplechase, and when you ride up to it,
if you throw your heart over, the horse will go along, too.”
Lawrence Bixby

Daisy Mae loves life
and all living things including other dogs!
|
Little Daisy Mae doesn’t know that other dogs don’t wobble on their back
legs. She doesn’t even seem to care that she needs a cart to get
around. Don’t feel sorry for Daisy Mae, though. She has truly been
given a gift. For the support that her legs lack, her huge heart and
her love for life make up for and help to carry her through life.

Daisy
Mae was given a hurdle in life when she was born with Cerebellar
ataxia. What this means is that she has uncoordinated movement in her
hind legs. And then came a second hurdle when her owner dumped her out
in a very rural area when she was only 6 weeks old. Afraid and alone,
she was rescued by a caring person who with one kind act, changed Daisy
Mae’s world forever.
Given a second chance, Daisy absolutely loves life! Everything is new
and exciting! People, kids, cats, dogs – if it is alive she loves it!!!
Never showing any aggression, her sweet temperament could bring tears to
your eyes. She loves to fetch, play outside and swim. She has also had
hydrotherapy and loved it. |

Daisy Mae is currently
in a foster home but longing to meet her forever family |
Daisy is more than ready to pass on the kindness that was shown to her
by her rescuer by finding a forever companion that she can love with all
of her huge heart. Only 35 lbs., and not expected to grow much more,
she is now 9 months old. She has had thorough testing by a neurologist
who said that she can lead a normal, happy life. |
|
This
sweet pup’s ideal home would be with a family where someone is home at
least half of the day, and she would have a brother or sister doggie to
play with. Kids to play with would be a terrific bonus also. She
absolutely needs to have a secure fenced in yard. Due to her balance
problem she needs a safe place to play where she won't get into any
situations she cannot get out of. In the house she needs carpet to
walk on (no hardwood floors) in order to keep her footing and traction.
Daisy Mae loves every day. She soaks in all the happiness and joy of
life. This little dog is a perfect example of how one kind act can
create beauty and hope in the world. Finding that special home for her
will be her final hurdle. Are you ready for some kindness? Do
you have the perfect home for Daisy Mae? If so please contact us
