Thanks Joshua Davis -
for your awesome Caravan donation!
As Joshua drove his donated van out to Pasado's sanctuary, he was
greeted by a crew of barking dogs and a few hee-haws and honks, to
boot!. (He only got hugs from us!)
We're so grateful to
people like Joshua who choose to donate their vehicle. This type of gift
literally means life to our rescued animals. It helps pay the vet bills,
the gas to pick-up rescued animals, and of course all the costs incurred
in feeding and caring for those animals. Thank you - and if you'd like
to do what Joshua did, please e-mail us
here! We'll even pick-up! |

Considering a new hybrid (or 4-wheels of
another kind)?
Read this first! |
Meet Ginny and John - and
their beautiful Ford Explorer. Pasado's Safe Haven depends on people
like Ginny and John for making a gift that makes saving lives possible.
In this case, Ginny and John's donated car was amazing (they even had it
"detailed" to make it perfect for us!). But the animals aren't picky
about what kind of vehicles are donated to help them. We've had a few
cars "limp" into the sanctuary, but in the end, they sold and brought in
much-needed revenue to help pay vet bills or buy food for the animals. |

If you’re thinking of
getting that new hybrid, or any other new car and want to unload your
“old” one, consider making it work for the animals. Like Mari and her
husband (and their rescued crew), left.
Think twice about getting
that low trade-in value or taking-on the hassle of selling it yourself.

While most non-profits use a
car-selling service or broker, taking up to 80% of the profit, we "do"
everything ourselves: Our volunteers pick up your car (or motorcycle!),
another volunteer does all the minor repairs, more volunteers clean up
your vehicle, and finally, we research local values and list your car
for sale in a local newspaper or car publication. We maximize how much
your vehicle is worth, which means you get the biggest tax write-off you
can get. |
|
 |
And best of all, 100% of the
money goes to help the animals at Pasado’s Safe Haven. Shani, left, a
great Pasado's Safe Haven decided when it was time to get a new car, her
Mazda was going to help the animals. We're so glad she chose to share
such a generous gift with those who had no hope of survival before we
met them. |

A record number of people
gave their cars, RV’s, (horse trailers, like Steve and Karen's, left)
and motorcycles to Pasado’s Safe Haven in the last year and here is one
of the reasons: New IRS tax laws now state that you can only write-off a
donated vehicle value based on what it sold for. When you donate a
vehicle to many non-profits, it’s immediately given to a car “broker”,
car lot, or business that trades in donated cars. What does this mean to
you? It means the non-profit charity gets pennies on the dollar for your
donation. And your vehicle’s worth isn’t maximized (the goal is to turn
it around for a fast sale).
That won't happen with Pasado's. |

vehicles.)
