Colby A meter reader from a power company stumbled on this dog and couldn’t turn his back on him: he had no hair on his body after being left outside in the elements through the heat of summer and the cold of winter, with no shelter. He was severely emaciated and desperately needed veterinary care: his paw was horribly infected and he was suffering The meter reader called animal control, to no avail. Then, his neighbor suggested calling Pasado’s Safe Haven. The next day Colby was at our sanctuary and on his way to healing . |

Despite his 11 years, Max believes he’s on his second chance at life. He was scheduled for euthanasia at a shelter, simply because he was old, and considered unadoptable. But then a Pasado’s Safe Haven heard about this senior boy and came to the rescue. Max is a great example of how the old ones comes to A.A.R.F.F. and thrive. With proper nutrition and the best medical care, they blossom. We can barely keep up with Max now. He runs the hills in A.A.R.F.F. and leads the pack.
