Tulip
When Pasado’s Safe Haven’s human investigators responded to a call on an
Indian reservation, no one was prepared to find a dog so terribly in need:
she was emaciated and had lived outside, with no shelter, for who knows how
many years. Her entire body was covered in open, gaping skin.
We named the sweet girl Tulip. It was springtime, and we knew this girl
deserved to blossom into life. When she arrived at Pasado’s Safe Haven she
only weighed 28
pounds. Her ideal weight would have been at least 50 lbs. Putting on weight
was the least of her problems, every dermatological specialist she saw
couldn’t help her skin. But then, with time, and good nutrition, her skin
began to heal. Her sores closed. Fur
grew back.
A
gift sponsorship of Tulip is a life-affirming story that will bring a tear
and great smiles to any gift recipient! |

Patch
Nope, it’s not Patches, as in black and white fur, it’s just plain Patch for
this boy came to Pasado’s from a shelter where he was to be euthanized
because of an eye that had been injured. Considered “unadoptable” he was
slated for death the day Pasado’s Safe Haven ‘sprung’ him. He arrived at our
sanctuary and promptly went into surgery to have his eye removed. We have no
idea how long he’d gone living with what must have been a painful condition.
Needless to say he recovered a very happy boy, although with only one eye.
A
gift sponsorship of Patch
would make someone very happy, not to mention Patch. You’d be helping him
with all the food, treats, and vet care a boy who almost didn’t see
tomorrow, could ever want! |

Colby
A meter reader from a power company stumbled on this dog and couldn’t turn
his back on him: he had no hair on his body after being left outside in the
elements through the heat of summer and the cold of winter, with no shelter.
He was severely emaciated and desperately needed veterinary care: his paw
was horribly infected and he was suffering
The meter reader called animal control, to no avail. Then, his neighbor
suggested calling Pasado’s Safe Haven. The next day Colby was at our
sanctuary and on his way to healing.
Sponsoring Colby will help
us continue care for Colby’s paw, which is still healing. He has grown most
of his hair back and has put on weight. He still has a long way to go and
your support would mean the world to him – and make a great gift for
someone!

Max
- One blue eye, one brown
Despite his 11 years, Max believes he’s on his second chance at life. He was
scheduled for euthanasia at a shelter, simply because he was old, and
considered unadoptable. But then a Pasado’s Safe Haven heard about this
senior boy and came to the rescue.
Max is
a great example of how the old ones comes to A.A.R.F.F. and thrive. With
proper nutrition and the best medical care, they blossom. We can barely keep
up with Max now. He runs the hills in A.A.R.F.F. and leads the pack. You’d
never know that he has arthritis – and we think he doesn’t know it either!
Your gift recipient will join
us for a tour of Pasado’s Safe Haven and meet their adopted son. He’s the
beautiful boy with the one blue and he’ll be waiting for you!
