He was ancient when we found him at a shelter, ready to be euthanized. Blind and deaf, and old as dirt. He came to Pasado's Safe Haven's A.A.R.F.F. only a month or so ago...

Everyone fell madly in love with him. We dressed him up in "old man" sweaters to keep him warm (he was bone on bone)...

...he wandered everywhere in our offices. Volunteers and staff alike let him lay in their arms while they worked on computers. And when we'd put him down on the floor, he wouldn't leave our sides. He'd "yip" until we picked him up again.

Thank you Gus, for allowing us to know you, if only for a brief time. We wish we'd had more time with you.

We'll see you again one day, sweet friend. You can see now. And hear. And we hope someone has provided a lap for you in which to be loved.
