I'm goin' for a ride in the car...
to my new home!! |

Myra, a.k.a. THE GOOBER.
Just look at that face. Were we EVER going to be able to adopt this big
lug of a girl? Dumped at a shelter because she was old, she also looked
like a tired gal in need of a face lift. But able to love? Oh my - she
could clean your face with kisses like no other dog. We hoped. We
waited. Other senior dogs we rescued from shelters after Myra, were
adopted - one by one, the new comers were going home, while Myra waited.
And then, fate stepped in.
A lovely young couple came out to A.A.R.F.F. to visit the dogs. They
decided it was finally the right time in their lives to add a new family
member. Of course all of our goof-balls charged them, saying "TAKE ME!"
"No, no, TAKE ME!!!" |

But Myra, slowly walked up
to them, and just l-o-o-k-e-d at them, with those soulful eyes. It was
kismet.
Her new mother Martha took two days off of work just to make sure Myra
was comfortable in her new home. Apparently, Myra is still so amazed
that she's in a home she gets a little anxious when one of them leaves
the room, but is quickly reassured. Martha tells us that Myra loves
going on walks and she especially loves being able to sleep on the
couch. She even has her own sleeping bag!
Best of all, Myra has another pal to sleep with, a new feline friend.
What a purr-fect ending for this girl who once faced only euthanasia. We
are so happy for her!
