Cleo’s Second Chance – ADOPTED!!!

UPDATE, 4/26/2012 – Cleo has been adopted!

Little Cleo is clearly a cat who was once dearly loved. We can’t imagine how difficult it must have been for a homeless man to drop her off at an apartment complex, but from his note, we can tell that the decision was heart-wrenching. The note explained that he was no longer able to care for her and asked that someone please take good care of her.

Careful! If you look into Cleo's eyes, she will steal your heart!

Pasado’s was contacted and since we were out of room at the sanctuary, we called on Sam’s for help. Fortunately for Cleo, Sam’s Cats and Dogs, Naturally in Monroe, WA stepped in to provide that care until Cleo can find her forever family.

By allowing Cleo to stay at their store until she finds a loving home, Sam’s is providing an amazing gift to both a rescued animal and to animal sanctuaries and shelters. Dooley’s Dog House in Kirkland, WA also extends the same assistance to our rescued kitties. Generously stepping in to help this little cat enables shelters and sanctuaries to have another spot open for another animal who may not have otherwise had a second chance. It takes a village to help animals in need and we are so proud to have Sam’s and Dooley’s be a vital part of that village!

Cleo is a gorgeous girl with a soft, shiny black coat and beautiful yellow eyes. This short-haired sweetheart is approximately two years of age. While we don’t know what adventures she had with her previous person, we know that she will bring much love and joy to her new family.

Although she is a little shy, Cleo warms up quickly to new people.

Despite still being a little timid, Cleo very much likes the company of people. She is very curious and likes to see what everyone is doing. She also loves to look out the window to watch the world around her.

Cleo prefers to have things on her terms: She will come to you when she is ready for love and attention. At the moment, she is still building back her trust, but it doesn’t take long to observe a new person and then request some attention!

When pets experience any drastic change, it can upset them just as it would upset their human companion. Pets can experience a wide array of emotions and emotional states, including joy, fear, and even depression. It can be emotionally traumatizing for a pet to lose their person, but with sufficient time, patience, and love, they can recover from this loss and learn to trust someone once again. Cats can be particularly sensitive and taking the time to provide the security and reassurance that they need to bond with someone new makes a world of difference. With time, patience, and care, we hope that Cleo will find love and acceptance once again.
