Bliss in profile

Bliss is a happy and curious girl who longs to be part of a family.

Bliss is a beautiful, friendly pit bull, who just can’t give enough love.  She adores everyone she meets, ears up and tail wagging.  Bliss is a gentle girl with soulful eyes.  She is eager to please and has a gorgeous blue, almost dark lavender coat.  This fantastic dog will make a wonderful pet for some lucky person or family.  Is it you?  Bliss would do best as the only dog in the home, and could stand to have someone work with her on her “meeting new dogs” manners.

Bliss is a total “trucker dog”… she loves driving and getting out to explore. Bliss lives up to her name when she gets the chance to go running free in the off-leash pastures. She is sweet and gentle with people, and is always open to getting hugs and kisses. Although I’ve spent some time working with her off leash, she would really benefit from consistent training and a real pack leader. She is still getting used to her new name and lifestyle and would love nothing more than a safe home (and occasional truck rides!)

i seriously am in love with this dog. i would totally take her home with me, but i’m going to school and the amount of room i have is not fair to a dog.. i hope she finds a forever home with someone who loves her as much as i do!

I approached this dog for the first time on Aug 21. It was warm out and I didn’t want to be pulled and tugged at the end of a leash. I was quite surprised when she began walking rather sedately.I decided to take her off the farm down the utility road and run with her. Some dogs will change their gait and jet out into a full tilt run…but she did not. She stayed close by and got the hang of it right away.  Being an avid runner in my younger days this is a definite plus for somebody looking for a running partner. I plan to take her on more Sunday walks for as  long as she’s here and will continue to write her progression as to cars and bicycles if encountered.   I liked this dog way more than I expected.

One week after Aug 21 I again spent time with Bliss. She is REALLY needing company from other volunteers if that can be arranged. Her eyes literally light up when approached. Again we ran a little, her focus has much improved…she will look to you and be focused when called.  I heard some training with her is being done and it’s showing. I brought my own dog up  - outside her cabin –  and she seemed friendly enough to him. I didn’t push it …just  a little “get to know”. Not sure yet what her response to other dogs is but her response to humans seems great.

I LOVE Bliss.  I am a volunteer who takes care of the ISO dogs in the evening so I don’t get much time to visit with the cabin dogs, but I try to get to Bliss even if it’s late and dark.  I’ve come into her cabin area when it’s dark and she knows who I am right away and she makes it obvious she loves my visits. Like her bio says, you can tell she wants to please.  That is dog love – Bliss has the love - she really is so sweet. She has such a beautiful colored coat too.  My heart will be so happy when she finds her human family.

Bliss is a sweetheart,; she is so gentle….. I want to find that perfect home for her. Are you looking for that one special dog that will be forever grateful for your love and blossom from it?

I’m hoping the work partwill be able to spread the word out baby girl Bliss. I had a whole group of them spend some time getting to know her today and they promised to post her picture online! I’ve never met a dog with a sweeter smile and desire to be loved by a real family. She is such a sweet girl and does really well with all kinds of people, however Bliss would not be able to go to a home with cats or small dogs since she sees them more as toys than “real animals” :O)

Pitbulls are super loyal and affectionate dogs, and Bliss is an example of how awesome and endearing they can be!

Bliss ,my sweet baby girl, soon you will have a real home that you deserve so much! It won’t take long, trust me , how could anyone not fall in love with you!!

Today Moa, our intern and I, cleaned out the brush in a new space for our dogs. We put a dog house on the spot , and then introduced Bliss to her new daytime digs! She loves it ! She’s having a blast with her girl friends next  door, and It’s so beautiful to see her happy and acting like a puppy!

We had another work party come out this past Thursday, and we posed Bliss with them for their group picture. I’m hoping they will post that on Facebook and other sites to get the word out about this awesome girl! We’ve had some interest, but Bliss really CAN’T be with small dogs or cats since she has a pretty strong prey drive. Small and furry = Really great toy to chase around ALL DAY! Bliss would be completely content as the only dog in a home, so if there’s anybody out there looking for a best friend who will be loyal loving for the rest of her life – Bliss is your girl!

I got one of the work party volunteers today to spend almost an hour just sitting and hanging out with Bliss inside her cabin. With the weather turning to winter, it’s nice for people to just spend time loving and being with the dogs inside where it’s warm and dry. If you have a chance, please spend some quality time with Bliss in her cabin – you can read, listen to music, or just cuddle together!

Bliss is an amazing dog. I cannot believe she has not been adopted yet. If you are looking for a wonderful companion, consider adopting her. She is soooo sweet!

During the tour last week, I had people ask me a couple questions that I didn’t even know existed. There is a myth that pitbulls have jaws that lock shut when they bite down… who knew?! My pittie mix is living proof that “drop it” works on all breeds! Also, I was asked if it is true that pitbulls randomly turn against people… DEFINITELY not true! Bliss is one of the dogs that I trust most around people at Pasado’s! I take her to the feed store in the box truck, on walks throughout the farm, and I’ve even taken her to an off leash indoor play area before. She was a sweet girl with everyone she met. From my experience, pitbulls and pittie mixes are some of the most loyal and affectionate dogs around – my girl sleeps under the covers next to me every night :O)

If you have any doubts, just come meet Bliss and I bet you’ll change your mind!
