A mother’s love is forever

Miracle (Mama O'Llama) and her baby, Michelle O'Llama

Miracle and Michelle

Miracle and Michelle O’Llama lost their home due to a foreclosure. Being homeless presented this mother and daughter with a precarious predicament: Pet llamas, especially those who have nowhere to live, are often slaughtered for their meat. Fortunately, Miracle and Michelle will never face such a fate; instead, they will live out their days at Pasado’s sanctuary, safe, secure, and together.
Miracle is a devoted mother who is extremely protective with her sweet, gentle baby. Michelle came to Pasado’s sanctuary with a severe leg injury that had gone untreated for a very long time. Miracle was worried that Pasado’s veterinary staff were hurting Michelle when they dressed her leg and tended to her wound and she remained vigilant throughout Michelle’s treatment. Fortunately, the loving llama had nothing to worry about. At the sanctuary, Miracle has been referred to as “Mama O’Llama” because she is such a dutiful mother. When people visit with her daughter, she tolerates their presence for awhile, but then she will intervene as if to say, “Thank you, but your time is up!”
Miracle and Michelle are an inseparable duo. When Miracle had to visit the veterinarian off-site, Michelle became frantic, running up and down the length of her fence and watching as her mother pulled away from them in a trailer. Miracle wouldn’t take her eyes off of Michelle and they watched and called for each other for as long as they could. Seeing such a bond made it apparent that these two can never be separated. Michelle and Miracle exemplify the lifelong connection between mother and child, showing that a mother’s love and protection are forever.

Thank you Pasado’s for caring for these llama’s. I have nine and will never part with them as they were born on our small llama ranch and have known nothing but kindness. It is hard to find good llama homes and yes they are being slaughtered. Keep up the good work.

Wasn’t there already a llama named Barack O’Llama at PSH? And didn’t that one die? Now you’ve named another one the same  name??

  • Updates

Yes, that is correct PSH had a beautiful llama name Barack and he did pass away.  These llamas’ names are Miracle and Michelle, not the same names of any llamas we have had before.  They are mother and daughter and they have an amazing bond that touches all of us.  Hope you enjoyed their story!
